Sierra Nevada
Tucked away in a corner of Spain, just thirty minutes from Granada and just an hour and a half's drive from Malaga, lies Sierra Nevada, Europe’s southernmost ski resort. The resort offers almost guaranteed sunny skiing with stunning views down to the coast and across the Mediterranean to Africa.

New for 2009! We can now offer short mid-week breaks at the El Lodge Hotel in the resort itself. The hotel is a small, very comfortable wooden chalet/log cabin style of hotel and even has it's own ski equipment for hire, so no need to take your skis or boots with you if you want to combine golf and skiing and are worried about weight. Please give us a call about this exciting new product.

The resort is very easy to find and the centre is traffic free – due to the huge underground car park right below the central square.

Sierra Nevada ski village offers a variety of hotels and apartments, and there are numerous restaurants serving local Granada, Spanish or international cuisine. Sierra Nevada provides wonderful all-round enjoyment with plenty of après-ski entertainment.

Sierra Nevada has 76.6km of prepared piste and in the right conditions some off-piste itineraries down the valleys into the surrounding National Park, with a vertical drop of 1300 metres or so. In 2004/5 season another 10 km of piste, and updated lifts were added. There are 19 ski lifts with an overall capacity for around 30.000 skiers per hour, 34 slopes and six off piste itineraries. The resort also has an artificial snow system, which ensures over 25 km of ski-able slopes throughout the mountain. At weekends, floodlit night-time skiing is available too. Queues for the 2003/4 season were dramatically reduced in the Borreguiles area with the installation of a new 6 man detachable chair.

The end of the ski season does not mean the last of Sierra Nevada's options for leisure and sports activities. During the summer months, visitors may enjoy a pleasant, mild, mountain climate while admiring the natural beauty of this unique area.

Sierra Nevada offers superb conditions for paragliding, mountaineering, climbing, walking, mountain bike or horse riding, to name but a few, or you may prefer simply to admire the fabulous scenery.
