Sotogrande near Gibraltar.

Sotogrande opened in 1964, designed by Robert Trent Jones, and is still rated amongst the top ten courses in Europe. It has well established vegetation with pine, cork oaks, eucalyptus and palm trees. Water hazards play an important role here, affecting holes 12, 13 and 14 and 16, 17 and 18. Known as "Old Sotogrande" so as to differentiate it from its younger neighbour, Valderrama, it is situated on the other side of the road. It's a private club open to visitors but limited tee times are available and it is well worth booking early to play here.
