Montecastillo Golf Course

Situated just outside Jerez de la Frontera, famous for sherry (the Tio Pepe vineyards are alongside part of the course) and horses, and right next door to Jerez Motor Racing Circuit, which is very well signposted, making the course easy to find.

A Jack Nickaus designed course, and home to the Volvo Masters for many years, Montecastillo is one of the top courses in Spain, let alone Andalucia. Whilst a test for the top professionals, it is a course that can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities. There are many memorable holes but none quite like the 18th., where the tee-shot is from high up, hitting down towards a lake on your left and several bunkers in front the Hotel on your right. Having found the fairway, the lake stretches right up and alongside the not-so-large green - and this is not the stroke index 1 hole!

A great course to play, and even if you are not staying in the area, it is only a 90 minute drive from the Marbella area and well worth a visit.
