Marina Golf |
Marina Golf is situated between Garrucha and Mojacar. The course is designed by Ramon Espinosa and was opened in 2000.
The course has two distinct areas. The first three and last few holes are close to the sea, gradually rising, but then you cross over a road and up to the spectacular 4th tee (see the photo below - the green is the far one on the right!). Be careful going down the road to the fairway - there are numerous hairpin bends. On the way back there is a free buggy service for players who are walking to get them up the hill.
The course on the far side of the hill demands accurate tee-shots, whilst the holes nearer to the sea are more open. On the short par 4 past the tower on the second nine, make sure the green is clear - a good tee-shot will make the green, although trouble awaits if off-line! Many of the holes are fairly close together, so you do need to be aware of errant golf balls. Some of the holes are quite challenging but overall Marina Golf is an OK holiday course.
