The Flamingos Golf course is designed by Antonio Garrido, along with an exceptional Golfing Academyand 3 other courses are to be constructed.Like many of the courses on the Costa del Sol, Flamingos demands some accurate tee shots, and certainly needs playing more than once to find the best lines on certain holes. Having said that, like most courses a bad shot is heavily penalised (lost!), but good shots are rewarded. However having found the green your putting technique will be certainly put to the test. The greens vary greatly in size, and there are very subtle borrows. Some of the greens were re-designed when the course played host to the European Senior Tour in 2002. To achieve an average of 2 putts per hole would be an achievement! The course has one of the best drainage systems on the Costa del Sol, and is usually playable when other courses are shut due to water-logging. Every hole is planted with different shrubs and trees with the intention that each hole will be named after the trees it is planted with.
