Lauro is a parkland course 300 metres above sea level, with original 18 holes set on a plateau and surrounded by mountains - a truly beautiful setting. This Falco Nordi design provides a delightful test of golf among pine, cork, olive and citrus trees. Opened in 1992, the course is mature with some of the best greens on the coast. The new nine is now open and takes advantage of the mountain terrain, the course adjoins the protected forest area of the Sierra de Mijas, making it very challenging. A little off the beaten track, a new link road from the motorway at the Parador turn is now open, and takes you through Alhaurin de la Torre, or you can drive from the coast through Alhaurin el Grande and the loveliest mountain scenery, giving you the opportunity to see something of the beautiful countryside. The Club house is a restored 18th century farmhouse, located within an old Andalucian patio, a perfect place for an after game drink or lunch.
