Designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido and Manuel Pinero, La Quinta is a challenging course at the top of Marbella's golf valley, inaugurated in 1989. This course consists of 27 holes all used in combination with each other to ensure easy flow of play. A technical course that reflects the designer Manuel Piρero's own playing characteristics, in that it rewards accuracy rather than long hitting. A variety of hazards come into play from elevated tees with trees, water, sand and streams to negotiate before approaching a good proportion of raised greens. An extensive programme has been carried out recently upgrading La Quinta, ensuring it maintains the quality. A new excellent five star hotel now opened on this complex, Westin La Quinta.
