The original 18 holes at Almerimar were designed by Gary Player, with the new 9 holes by Ramon Espinosa which was opened in 2005.
The first nine holes of the original course have been completely renovated, and were opened for play again in December 2007 - now well worth a visit!
The original course offers gently undulating but wide fairways, but the approachs to the greens are well protected by water and strategically placed bunkers - particularly the par 3 hole almost completely surrounded by water (normally the 12th hole on the original 18). The new 9 holes are quite flat, but the water hazards can take you by surprise! Again, a good resort course.
